Charged YYJ installs a phone charging station in your bar at no cost, pays you 15% of every $9 rental, and handles all the upkeep. Your staff don't have to do anything.

What you get
A countertop station with eight power bank slots and a 10.1-inch screen. Guests scan the QR code on the screen, pay $9 on their own phone with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a credit card through Stripe, and take a power bank with them. Your staff never handle payments, cables or phones.
It's a small thing that guests remember: they can stay longer, keep ordering, and still have enough battery to get home safely. And you stop lending out the cable behind the bar.
How you get paid
Your venue earns 15% of every $9 rental made at your station, calculated before tax. We pay it out monthly by e-transfer, with a rental report. The share covers rentals; it doesn't include charges for power banks that aren't returned. There are no fees, no equipment cost and no minimum number of rentals.
What we take care of
- Install: we bring the station, set it up on your counter and plug it into one regular 120 V outlet. No wiring or drilling.
- Service: we keep the station running and look after any issues.
- Swaps: we rebalance and swap power banks so your station keeps stock for guests.
- Support: guests with questions contact Charged YYJ, not your staff.
No long contract
The arrangement is month to month. If it isn't working for you, give us 14 days' notice and we'll come and pick the station up. No penalties.
Where we're starting
Charged YYJ launches in December 2026 with stations in bars and venues around downtown Victoria. Power banks can be returned to any Charged YYJ station, so every venue in the network makes the service more useful for guests across the city.
